Comics Long Ago

Back before there was tv...back before there were computers...back before there were smart phones...in fact back before there was ac in our homes.....comics were the kings....no Netflix...but you knew new ones were coming out monthly. I can remember stretching out on the summer rugs in 508 on a weekend evening enjoying the latest comics...not these super heroes...more like archie and little lulu and cowboys...and love stories...but what fun they were!

Beautification Day

COLONIAL BEACH AND THE WINDS FRIDAY...

Marie and I traveled down to Colonial Beach to check the  house and the peddlers market. We passed 15 power trucks coming out as we went  in. plus 3 in the parking lot at a restaurant. It was hit harder the farther in we went. Local traffic only. I am used to seeing pine trees down but these were bIG OAK TREES THE biggest Ive seen down in Va ever. YOu can see in the pics on the boat and house STUFF blown straight across like seared on the boat and house. Wires are still down. and hanging dangerously low. We didnt get all the way in. Here are some pics. It was more intense than I expected.

Teddy our first DOG love....

When we moved to Spotsylvania to start our new life we decided we wanted a dog. One of us wanted a German Shepherd, one wanted a collie and one wanted a beagle. While buying stuff at our local Chewnings store, they mentioned the Coke man had a litter of puppies to give away....a combination of all our desires mentioned above. We went we got him and our life was so enriched with having him. This pic was taken in 1977 and even now looking at it I love him and miss him.
